Dr. in de Geneeskunde (veld Neuropsychologie). Universiteit Utrecht 2005. Titel doctoraatsthesis: the neuropsychology of acute stroke: characterisation and prognostic implications.

Licentiaat in de psychologie, optie theoretische psychologie. Katholieke Universiteit Leuven 2000. Titel licentiaatsthesis: De invloed van irrelevante afleiders op oriëntatiediscriminatiedrempels bij patiënten met neglect. Onderzoeksstage Birmingham University School of Psychology.

Academische functie

Dr. Wetenschappelijk Medewerker (FWO post-doc mandaat) aan de vakgroep Inwendige Ziekten, Laboratorium voor Neuropsychologie.

Mijn huidige functie betreft hoofdzakelijk wetenschappelijk onderzoek naar gelateraliseerde aandachtsstoornissen en visuele hallucinaties bij Hemiparkinsonisme, en behandeling van neglect.
Onderwijsactiviteiten op dit moment: Doceren colleges Neuropsychologie, colleges Cognitieve revalidatie en functionele plasticiteit, Neuropsychologische diagnostiek en college voor de permanente postacademische vorming Klinische Neuropsychologie i.s.m. prof. G. Vingerhoets, begeleiding scripties en onderzoeksstages voor de faculteit Geneeskunde en Permanente Postacademische vorming.

Klinische dienstverlening: neuropsychologische diagnostiek bij patiënten van de afdeling Neurologie (geheugenstoornissen, bewegingsstoornissen, stroke unit,...)

- Aandachtsstoornissen en visuele hallucinaties bij de ziekte van Parkinson en de relatie met dopamine asymmetrie in het brein
- Hemispatieel neglect: fundamenteel onderzoek en meer klinische aspecten zoals behandeling d.m.v. prisma-adaptatie
- Cognitieve stoornissen in de acute fase na een CVA met specifieke interesse voor stoornissen in de visuele perceptie en herstel van deze functies 
- Diagnostische aspecten van de neuropsychologie en normering
